Leading Utah officer: ‘No clue’ about the whereabouts of Charlie Kirk’s killer

Top Utah cop: 'No idea' where Charlie Kirk killer is

Investigation into Charlie Kirk’s Shooting Continues

The Utah Public Safety Bureau, represented by View Mason Bureau, recently stated they are unsure of the whereabouts of the suspect in the shooting death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk earlier this week.

When pressed by an NBC News reporter about the possibility of the suspect being nearby or still in Utah, Mason responded, “We don’t know. We’re looking into leads both in-state and out-of-state.”

Mason added, “There are a lot of interested parties involved. The tips are coming in from all over.” This comment came as the manhunt for Kirk’s alleged assassin stretched into its third day. Authorities released new images and video footage of individuals of interest who may have fled the scene.

The footage depicts a person running across the roof of a building at Utah Valley University, down its side, and through a parking lot towards a busy street.

During an appearance on Fox & Friends, President Trump suggested the suspect might already be in custody, stating, “I think there’s a high degree of certainty he’s in custody.”

At a press conference on Thursday, Mason mentioned the potential evidence they have gathered, saying, “We’ve found some dirt where we are trying to collect DNA and shoe prints that seem to match certain shoes worn by the suspects.”

The FBI reported that they have recovered a powerful bolt-action rifle from a nearby wooded area. Investigators are looking into potential traces of fingerprints and shoe impressions from those of interest.

Utah Governor Spencer Cox emphasized the importance of public assistance in this investigation, noting that once the suspect is apprehended, authorities will seek the death penalty. He mentioned that the law enforcement agency has received over 7,000 tips so far but has yet to identify any suspect or establish a motive behind Kirk’s murder.

Two individuals were previously detained but released after authorities found no connections to the shooting. Updates on the ongoing investigation are expected later on Friday morning.
