Leaks hindered immigration raids in Colorado: Homan

President Trump's “border emperor” Tom Homan said that an immigrant attack on the outskirts of Denver was leaked, causing Venezuela-linked Tren de Aragua (TDA) gang targets to flee It is said that they allowed it.

“This is not a game. We know that TDA is dangerous,” Homan told reporters outside the White House on Thursday.

“Everyone can agree with that, but when they head up that we're coming, it's only a matter of time before our officers are ambushed,” he added. Associated Press“Their work is dangerous enough, so we're going to take this very seriously.”

Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers were still able to make arrests, but the number of individuals detained remains unknown. The agency is actively documenting deportation efforts via social media.

“More than 100 members of the violent Venezuelan gang were targeted for arrest and detention by today's Ice and their partners in Aurora, Colorado. @fbi @deahq @cbp @atfhq & @usmarshalshq In an ongoing investigation, the agency wrote in a statement Wednesday Social Platform X.

Agents attacked an apartment frequently visited by gang members, whose several individuals have died on suspicion of fentanyl overdose, the AP reported. A local judge identified the site as a threat to public safety and ordered it to be closed by February 18th.

ICE averaged 787 arrests from January 23rd to January 31st.

The arrest comes after the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) approved arrests at schools and churches later last month, rescinding previous guidelines that banned arrests in these “sensitive” areas. Denver Mayor Mike Johnston, D., alleged that the move had been violated by the city's public safety.

“It's all for the benefit of this country and we'll continue. There's no apology,” Homan told Fox News in an interview last month, responding to Johnston's complaints. “We're moving forward.”

The two men have been in conflict since the administration began acting on Trump's pledge to expel the U.S. enforcement. The border emperor threatened to put the mayor in prison if he refused to cooperate with the president's immigration order.

Oka contacted the Department of Homeland Security for additional comment.
