Leavitt strongly criticizes Texas Democrat for her remarks about 'sick' Trump supporters

White House spokesperson Caroline Leavitt expressed support for Rep. Jasmine Crockett, a Democrat from Texas, who recently faced accusations from President Donald Trump’s supporters claiming he was mentally ill. During a press briefing on Thursday, Leavitt stated, “It’s quite mild to attribute mental illness to nearly 80 million people.” She further emphasized that Crockett had unlikely intentions of ever achieving the popularity Trump holds.

Leavitt highlighted the diverse supporters of Trump’s movement, referring to them as hardworking individuals from various professions, including law enforcement, nursing, and teaching. She suggested that Crockett should attend a Trump rally to witness this firsthand.

Leavitt suggested that she sees potential in Crockett as a rising figure within the Democratic Party, which she viewed as beneficial for the Republican side as well.

In a recent interview, Crockett discussed the impact of the national mental health crisis and how it might relate to Trump’s reelection. “We find ourselves in a mental health crisis in this nation; you should oppose Trump, no matter how you view yourself,” she remarked, emphasizing her non-partisan stance on the issue.

Crockett also claimed that former Vice President Kamala Harris deserved the presidency more than Trump, as she referred to Trump as an “old white man.”

Additionally, Crockett expressed concern over current leadership, feeling heartbroken for service members, and made strong remarks against anyone supporting perceived harmful actions. She argued that Biden’s mental clarity was never in question and believed it was superior to Trump’s.

Finally, Crockett recently faced backlash over controversial remarks about Republican figures, including Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who uses a wheelchair, which drew considerable criticism from various quarters.
