Leftist Rachel Maddow ‘worried’ Trump will put her in one of the ‘massive camps he’s planning’ if he’s elected president

CNN’s “A trusted sourceMonday’s newsletter featured an interview with MSNBC host Rachel Maddow in which Maddow expressed concern that former President Donald Trump would put her and leftists like her in one of “the big camps that he’s planning” if he were to return to office in November.

Maddow’s rather surprising take was prefaced with this observation from a “reliable source”: “Trump and his allies have openly discussed weaponizing the government for revenge against critics in the media and politically, and some of his extremist allies have even spoken of jailing fellow Americans. You’re one of Trump’s most prominent critics on television. Are you worried you could be a target?”

“What makes you so sure that these massive camps that he’s planning are only for migrants?”

“We’re building camps to house millions of people,” Maddow said. ‘Eradicate’ What he describes in subhuman terms “The enemy from within” Here again, history is useful: he is not joking when he says these things, and we already know what happens when people come to power and proclaim such policies.”

She warned “reliable sources” that “Trump is escaping complacency by saying he’s only going to attack individuals he’s already targeted. Do you really think he’s going to stop at well-known liberals?”

Maddow also said, “Trump call If on his first day as president he invokes the Insurrection Act and issues the order to send U.S. troops against civilians, do you think he’ll rescind that order on his second day?”

She also said, “By the way, these huge camp “Is immigration the only thing he’s planning?” he asked, before concluding: “So, yes, I’m worried about myself, but I’m just as worried about all of us.”

Repeated iterations

Maddow’s concerns echo a Trump mantra the left loves to repeat.

Late last month, actor Robert De Niro spoke on behalf of the Biden administration outside the Manhattan courthouse where Trump is on trial, warning that “Trump wants to destroy not only the city, but the country, and ultimately could destroy the world.”

De Niro also said, “If Trump returns to the White House, goodbye to all these freedoms that we take for granted. And what about the election? Forget it. It’s over, it’s over. If he becomes president, I can tell you right now, he’s never going to go away. He’s never going to go away. You know that. He’s never going to go away.”

In April, left-leaning MSNBC commentator Nicolle Wallace suggested that Trump might be removed from the show if he was returned to office in November. “Depending on what happens in November, I may not be sitting here seven months from now, this time next year,” Wallace said, adding that “freedom of the press” might also disappear.
