Billionaire entrepreneur Jeff Bezos has announced a new freedom-focused direction for the Washington Post, resulting in much of the left melting.
Bezos, who founded Amazon, bought the post in 2013 and said at the time its value would not change because outlets have a “significant role” in Washington, DC.
“I am confident that the free market and individual freedom are suitable for America.”

“We write every day to support and defend two pillars: personal freedom and the free market. Of course we also cover other topics, but the perspectives against those pillars will be made public by others,” he writes in part.

Bezos went on to say that David Shipley, editor of the editorial page, has decided to step down rather than lead a new direction.
“I suggested to him that if the answer wasn't “yes,” then it had to be “no.” After careful consideration, David decided to leave,” he wrote.
Critics say this decision was made by billionaires appease President Donald Trump was when his large company faced antitrust laws from the US Federal Trade Commission.
