Leicester fans are full of hope thanks to their new manager Ruud van Nistelrooy; West Ham supporters are rapidly losing patience with their new guy Julen Lopetegui. Either way, though, these teams go into tonight’s fixture off the back of a skelping, Leicester losing 4-1 at Brentford last weekend, the Hammers shipping five in 45 minutes at home to Arsenal. A bounceback victory would mean so much. Kick-off is at 8.15pm GMT. It’s on!

main events
9 minutes: Coufal found some space on the right and crossed for Kudus to head in from six yards out. Or did Justin get there first and swerve into the corner? I think so, yes. But referees don't. West Ham are furious.
8 minutes: Christiansen, who was firmly on the left touchline, rolled a pass into the infield, and Vardy was away again! Vardy tried to evade the keeper on the left, but dinked and the ball was deflected by Fabianski and into the side netting. Nothing comes of the resulting corner.
7 minutes: Mavropanos tries to recover by attacking the inside right channel, but his pass to Coufal is blocked. However, West Ham reversed again and Bowen appeared to be tipped over on the right of the D-goal. But there was no whistle, so Soucek grabbed the loose ball and dashed over it.
5 minutes: VAR breaks the space-time continuum there. But it's 1 minute and 39 seconds.
goal! Leicester 1-0 West Ham (Vardy 2)
The goal stands! As Vardy runs out to celebrate, King Power roars! Not a bad start to the Van Nistelrooy era, right?
3 minutes: …But Mavropanos may have played Vardy onside, so VAR is checking. This is going to be very tough. In fact, the naked eye suggests that this goal is achieved. But we are waiting for the ruler.
2 minutes: So, that 0-0 draw… Vardy burst through the inside left channel. He is clear. He reached inside the box, opened his body and fired a goal past Fabianski into the bottom right corner. But soon the flag will go up. Offside.
West Ham get the ball rolling. Fabianski takes a long shot, but his teammates quickly lose the ball. “These two clubs conceded nine goals at the weekend, so let's hope Ruud's presence inspires more goals, goals, goals,” wrote Justin Kavanagh. “So I went and jinxed it. Now, what price would they offer for a 0-0 draw?”
The team is out! Leicester are blue, West Ham are claret. Managers hug each other warmly on a cold night. We'll be leaving in a few minutes.
Julen Lopetegui tells Amazon. “We chose this lineup because we think we are ready to face this challenge…Niklas Furkrug is on the bench because he can play some minutes…We are happy that he is back, but we… must progress step by step…consistency is always important.”
Ruud van Nistelrooy speaks to Amazon Prime. “It’s been a bit busy! … Long days, a lot needs to happen… Let’s get to know each other as much as possible… From the first conversation with the owners, it was very positive… The club, the players, the facilities… It’s great … All at the highest level of the club… Enzo [Maresca] He is a good friend of mine and helped me a lot moving forward [and take the job] …pressing at the right time…and moving forward…good pressure and counter-attacking…the goal is to stay in the Premier League…we can achieve that.”
The team, which saw Ruud van Nistelrooy make his first start at Leicester, will make four changes to the squad in preparation for the heavy defeat against Brentford. Jannik Westergaard, Victor Christiansen, Bilal El Kanus and Casey McAteer were on the bench in place of Wout Faez, Caleb Okoli, Luke Thomas and Jordan Ayew. Harry Winks is still recovering from a groin problem.
Julen Lopetegui made five changes to his squad after the 5-2 defeat against Arsenal. Returns: Vladimir Coufal, Konstantinos Mavropanos, Edson Alvarez, Danny Ings and Mohamed Kudus, back from a five-game suspension due to a meltdown with the Spurs. Crisencio Somerville, Michail Antonio, Lucas Paqueta and Emerson Palmieri were on the bench, while Jean-Clair Todibo was absent due to injury.
