Leonardo DiCaprio Reflects on Career Changes
Leonardo DiCaprio, who has consistently found success throughout his career, seems to have shifted his approach to choosing projects as he approaches 50. At a recent Hollywood premiere for his new film “A Battle,” he shared his thoughts about what’s next for him.
“I feel like I’m a bit behind,” DiCaprio admitted, hinting at a desire to take a different pace moving forward. He expressed excitement about collaborating with writer and director Paul Thomas Anderson on upcoming comedies, stating, “When these chances come up, it’s hard to say no.”
He further explained that the timing of his projects has always felt right. DiCaprio mentioned how he has been a devoted fan of Anderson since watching “Boogie Nights.” “His films resonate with me; they’re like conversations I have with friends,” he noted, reflecting on the lasting impact of such works.
“Awards in this industry, really, they can be quite fleeting,” he said. “What truly matters are the films that provoke thought and stir conversations. Paul is a significant figure of our time.” His tone exhibited a mix of admiration and introspection regarding his career and the nature of filmmaking.
Earlier this year, DiCaprio participated in an interview with Anderson where he humorously claimed to feel “32.” When Anderson pointed out that he was actually 50, DiCaprio shared how this milestone has made him more honest and aware, wishing not to waste time in his professional and personal life.
He observed that people, like his mother, often express their true feelings without holding back. “I think that’s something to aspire to,” he reflected. DiCaprio emphasized a commitment to being more genuine, noting, “To be honest, it’s about risking disagreements and navigating relationships without fear.” He believes that time is precious and should be spent positively.
