Wexner to Face Questions Regarding Epstein Ties
Lawmakers on the House Oversight Committee are set to interrogate billionaire Les Wexner about his association with Jeffrey Epstein on February 18 at 10 a.m., according to a source familiar with the committee’s matters.
Wexner is expected to respond to inquiries from Ohio, where he maintains a residence.
Both Democratic and Republican legislators are urging closer examination of Wexner, the former CEO of L Brands, following revelations from 3 million documents recently disclosed by the Department of Justice (DOJ) as part of the Epstein File Transparency Act.
London Police Investigating Former British Ambassador Linked to Epstein
While Wexner’s and Epstein’s business connection is already well-known, newly uncovered files suggest that authorities once viewed Wexner as complicit in Epstein’s illicit activities. Wexner was among Epstein’s earliest and largest clients, providing various consulting and financial services for Epstein’s ventures, according to both Wexner and financial records. L Brands covers brands like Victoria’s Secret, Abercrombie & Fitch, and Bath & Body Works.
In a memo dated August 15, 2019, just five days after Epstein’s jailhouse suicide, the FBI categorized Wexner as a “co-conspirator” alongside five others, including Ghislaine Maxwell. At the time of his death, Epstein was facing serious charges related to the trafficking of minors.
Rep. Robert Garcia of California noted that the Justice Department had redacted some mentions of Wexner until inquiries prompted them to explain why those details weren’t fully transparent.
“The DOJ is withholding the name of Les Wexner, a billionaire co-conspirator of Epstein,” Garcia stated in a post on X. “That’s why Oversight Democrats pushed for a subpoena for his testimony. He will be questioned under oath next week.”
Lawmakers Intensify Epstein Inquiry; Possible Subpoena for Bill Gates
Frustration is growing among lawmakers over the lack of indictments stemming from a month-long investigation into Epstein, his trafficking activities, and associates. Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky expressed concern that their demands for transparency regarding Epstein’s crimes remain unfulfilled.
Massie pointed out that while references in the file don’t automatically imply misconduct, the context surrounding Wexner’s involvement should certainly raise red flags.
Concerns Over Clinton’s Testimony
“Even though being named in Epstein’s files doesn’t equate to guilt, Leslie Wexner has been linked to Epstein as a co-conspirator in child sex trafficking,” Massie shared in a social media post.
The Wexner Foundation has yet to comment on whether Wexner plans to cooperate with lawmakers or will invoke his Fifth Amendment rights during questioning.
