Less than half of Americans say opinion of Trump is favorable: Poll

According to a recent poll, less than half of Americans say they have a favorable opinion of President-elect Trump.

The latest Reuters/Ipsos poll shows about 41 percent expressed their opinion The next president's approval rating is high. About 55% said their opinion of the next president was unfavorable.

Trump is scheduled to be sworn in for his second term as president late next month. He defeated Vice President Harris in the 2024 White House race, upsetting Democrats and exciting Republicans.

Democrats, who failed to regain a majority in the House of Representatives this year and lost in the Senate, continue to discuss why they struggled in last month's vote. Some centrists say the party has moved too far to the left, while liberals say it hasn't moved far enough.

A Reuters/Ipsos poll also showed President Biden's ratings were unfavorable. According to the poll, he received 38 percent support.

Some Democrats blame Biden and his failure to withdraw from the race sooner for his loss of office.

On last month's episode of the left-wing podcast Pod Save America, host Jon Favreau called the president's re-election a “catastrophic mistake” and said those close to the president said he was “unpopular.” He also said he refused to think about it.

“They refuse to admit until late that anyone can be upset about inflation. And they keep telling us that his presidency was historic, the greatest economy in history. ,” Favreau said.

The Reuters/Ipsos poll was conducted December 12-15 among 1,031 people and had a margin of error of 3 percentage points.
