LG Electronics is recalled for fire hazards that have been sold throughout the United States, which have led to pet deaths. Posted by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The recall affects ovens with front mount knobs that can unintentionally turn on, creating a serious safety risk.

The broken oven has been linked to more than 28 fires, with at least five causing serious property damage in excess of $340,000.
Additionally, eight minor injuries have been reported, including burns, with at least three fires resulting in the death of the pet.
The recalled ovens were sold at major retailers such as Best Buy, Costco, The Home Depot, Lowe's and LG.com online.
Available between 2015 and January 2025, prices ranged from $1,400 to $2,650 depending on the model.
The oven, manufactured by LG Electronics Inc. in Mexico and South Korea, was distributed by the company's subsidiary based in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey.

LG advises owners of recalled ovens to contact the company for free warning labels and placement instructions.
This label serves as a reminder to prevent accidental activation of the heating elements using the control lock feature on the oven panel.
“Consumers keep children and pets away from the knobs, check the knobs in the oven to make sure they are off before leaving or going to bed, and do not leave objects in the oven when not in use. Please be careful,” the recall notification states.

In the summer of 2024, Samsung recalled more than 1.1 million ovens following reports of around 250 fires that caused injuries and killed at least seven pets.
CPSC warns of the risk of accidental oven activation.
According to the agency, it documented a case of a fire ignition after the knob of range was carelessly turned on.
Between 2018 and May 30, CPSC data recorded 338 incidents involving 10 different manufacturers unintentionally enabled oven or cooktops.
Two of these incidents resulted in deaths and 31 caused fatal injuries.
“In addition, CPSC staff have discovered two other fatal incidents in which the oven accidentally turned on when the knob hit, but the manufacturer is unknown,” the agency reported.
A 2024 home security video highlighted the risk, showing dogs jumping on the stove and accidentally switching burners.
Burner flames lit a nearby cardboard box, leading to a fire that drove away a family in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Homeowners were treated for smoke inhalation, According to CBS affiliate KKTV.
This recall is strict to ensure that consumers check their ovens, make sure they are properly protected and take precautions to prevent accidental activation that can lead to dangerous and expensive fires. It acts as a warning.
