More than 200 LGBT groups have called on Target to replenish its “Pride” collection and speak out against “anti-LGBTQ+ extremism.”
The Human Rights Campaign has joined forces with GLAAD, GLSEN and others to bring Target to scale back its Pride collection following public backlash against some of its controversial products such as Tuck Friendly. Issued a call to action for Target. ]Swimsuit.
Statement of June 5 read:
Right now, it’s important to stand up for fairness and inclusivity, as Target has done for over a decade. Target consistently tops the list of brands demonstrating genuine support for the LGBTQ+ community through outreach and policies. Target was recognized by the Executive Leadership Council in 2022 for his outstanding commitment to DEI. It’s time to prove that rating is earned.
The LGBT group also asked Target to issue a public statement in the next 24 hours expressing support for the LGBT community.
Target made only one official statement on the controversy, and that was before the LGBT coalition’s letter was released.
Target’s May 24 statement read:
For over a decade, Target has offered a variety of products aimed at celebrating Pride Month. Since launching this year’s collection, we’ve seen threats affecting our team members’ sense of safety and well-being at work. In light of this volatility, we are adjusting our plans, including removing items that have been at the center of the most serious conflicts. We are now focused on continuing our commitment to the LGBTQIA+ community and walking with them throughout Pride Month and the year.

America First Legal’s Steven Miller said, “We are proud to represent US shareholders who have been financially hurt by Target’s tumble into gender extremism and child exploitation,” but said, “Pride It is calling on Target to release its corporate books and records following the collection controversy. daily mail report.
