LGBTQ Outlet Calls John MacArthur an ‘Old White Hate Pastor’ over MLK Comments

Progressive LGBT media recently characterized Pastor John MacArthur of Grace Community Church in California as a “white-hating old pastor” following MacArthur’s recent comments about the faith of Martin Luther King Jr. .

according to christian postLGBTQ Nation, owned by San Francisco-based Q.Digital Network, criticized MacArthur for claiming that Dr. King was a “non-believer” and “not a Christian at all.” Question-and-answer session at his church last month.

At the time, attendees asked the pastor about his thoughts on two evangelical organizations: Alliance for the Gospel (TCG) and Together for the Gospel (T4G). In response, MacArthur recalled a brief history of the now-defunct T4G, pointing out how the TGC strayed from its original mission despite being launched with “noble intentions.”

TCG honored the late theologian RC Sproul, and a few years later the organization did the same for King.

“I’m not saying he didn’t contribute to society. I was always glad he was a pacifist, otherwise he could have started a real revolution. ” MacArthur added. “But you can’t respect a non-believer in an organization who misrepresented everything about Christ and the Gospel any more than you can respect someone like RC Sproul.”

In response to MacArthur’s comments, the LGBTQ Nation defended Dr. King as a Christian, including awarding him a “doctoral degree” in Montgomery, Alabama. King is “widely regarded as a distinctly Christian and moral symbol of civil rights,” he said.
