Abortion and transgenderism are clearly theological issues, but what about illegal immigration? Does the Bible say anything about illegal immigration, border walls, or mass deportations?
Some Christians point to Jesus' words in Matthew 22:39 as evidence that we should welcome into this country with open arms what Democrats euphemistically call “illegal aliens.” “Love as yourself.”
“Many of you grew up in the days of Hawaiian shirts, pleated khakis, and sweater vests, so that's what you were taught. [rejecting illegal immigration] It violates loving your neighbor as yourself.” Steve Diace.
These people are more likely to be captured by liberation theology, explains Diese. Liberation theology is a neo-Marxist, Catholic theological approach that originated in Latin America, emphasizing social action over doctrine and focusing on the political liberation of oppressed peoples.
That's heresy.
Diese said the current pope is naturally “surrounded by private armies” and lives in “gated communities” and regularly defends the idea that “it's not Christian to have borders.” point out that
How Donald Trump, who bet his campaign heavily on mass deportations, won the support of more Hispanic voters than any Republican candidate in history, as Catholicism in Latin countries merged with liberation theology. I wonder if it is?
“What happened is that we went from people who just came here to pick berries and make beds in hotels to people born and bred in Latin American Catholicism through liberation theology. It's become a whole generation,” Diess said, adding that these people “believe they have a right to be here.
“The generation of people who came here in the '80s and '90s to pick berries, make beds and mow lawns are now making their own way.” They are here to “pick up their welfare checks'' because they believe they have a right to them.''
Moreover, the Bible specifically mentions illegal immigration.
“Does the Bible talk about mass deportations? Are there walls built by God's people to protect their borders?” Steve asks rhetorically.
“Yes! There's actually a whole book called 'The Book of Nehemiah.' That's literally what this book is all about,” he says. “They are deporting people who don't belong in large numbers, including women and children, and they are literally at war with neighboring countries to rebuild walls to protect their borders.”
“So the answer is yes.”
