Hollywood actress and ABC star scandal Kerry Washington took to the stage at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) on Thursday night to teach the crowd how to say Kamala’s name correctly.
Washington is scandal During a scene where her character has an abortion, with “Silent Night” playing on the soundtrack, Kamala’s nieces came onstage to help teach the audience the correct pronunciation.
“Some people struggle, or pretend to struggle, to pronounce the president’s name correctly. I understand confusion, but I don’t understand disrespect. So tonight we’re going to help everyone get it right, and helping me are some very special guests,” she said.
Washington then invited Kamala’s nieces in and instructed the crowd on how to pronounce Kamala’s name: “comma” followed by “ra.”

Kerry Washington began her speech by rejecting those who try to belittle her voice because she’s a famous Hollywood actress.
