Lincoln Memorial Vandalized with ‘Free Gaza’ Graffiti

Washington, D.C.'s iconic Lincoln Memorial has been desecrated with a “Free Gaza” message, reports said Wednesday, as Israel's war against Hamas terrorists continues.

UPI said Vandalism struck one of the nation's most beloved and emotional memorial sites on the mall's west end between Tuesday and early Wednesday morning.

Crews were called to clean up the red paint around 8:30 a.m. and the area was closed to the public, WDCW-TV reported.

It happened hours after 60 ceasefire protesters were arrested inside the U.S. Capitol Rotunda as part of a tour group.

“No more nickels! No more pennies! No more money for Israel's crimes!” the group was chanting. It was not immediately clear whether the vandalism was connected to the group protesting at the Capitol.

Regarding the graffiti, the stairs on the west side of the reflecting pool will be closed for several days to remove the paint.

The paint is water-based and can be easily removed by crews, the station reported.Anyway, ABC News report Cleaning a 101-year-old building can consist of multiple “treatments.”

Other graffiti glorifying the 16th president has been reported on the neoclassical structure, including messages such as “Liberate Palestine” and “Give us back the land.”

The incident is not the first instance of vandalism at a landmark in the capital.

In November, protesters spray-painted “Liberate Palestine” on several ordinances in Lafayette Square, across Pennsylvania Avenue from the White House.

This cleanup required a special process to remove the paint.
