After an incident involving former Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham, who was attacked with an unidentified substance outside a California office, the woman accused of stalking him has been indicted on multiple charges. Michelle Dick faces seven counts, including two counts of stalking, two counts of making threats with intent to intimidate, assault with a deadly weapon, vandalism, and battery, as detailed in court documents.
The violations reportedly occurred between October 2021 and last month, with her arrest taking place on April 3. Buckingham, at 76, had gone to an appointment in Santa Monica when a woman, later identified as Dick, threw an unknown substance at him before fleeing the scene.
In statements to the press, Dick claimed that Buckingham is her biological father. It came to light last week that she had approached him on the day of the attack and had visited his home the day prior. Buckingham had previously sought a restraining order against her in December 2024, expressing fear that her behavior might escalate into something dangerous for him and his family.
Buckingham described how the harassment started back in 2021 when Dick obtained his wife’s work phone number, bombarding her with calls and leaving messages where she claimed to be his child while making threats against his family.
Although the harassment seemed to fade for a couple of years, it resurfaced in 2024, when Dick allegedly taped a photo collage of Buckingham to his mansion. The following day, police found her loitering outside his home. When questioned, she claimed Buckingham had “suffocated her to death” as a child.
In a rather alarming encounter, Buckingham mentioned an incident where he was woken by police who mistakenly thought his son was in danger. They handcuffed him, citing a 911 call that reported gunshots and a suicide attempt involving his son.
Buckingham expressed deep concern for his safety, referring to Dick as “mentally unfit and delusional,” which understandably made him feel threatened. A superior court judge in Los Angeles has issued a restraining order mandating that Dick maintain a distance of 100 yards from Buckingham and his family, prohibiting any form of harassment or contact.
