Lindsey Vonn discloses her sister's ACL injury following a frightening accident.

American skier Lindsey Vonn is still recovering from a serious leg injury she suffered during a fall at the 2026 Winter Olympics. Recently, she lightheartedly mentioned that her sister, Karin Kildow, has torn her ACL.

On her Instagram Story, Lindsey captioned a video of Kildow on crutches and in a leg brace, saying, “Welcome to Vonn’s Rehabilitation Center. Patient #2 – ACL tear.”

Lindsey has her own share of injuries, including a fractured right ankle from the same accident. Remarkably, she was skiing again, despite previously tearing her ACL during a World Cup race in Switzerland back on January 30.

In the video, Lindsey, who is seen lying on a rehab gym table, exclaims, “Karin is joining the rehab program!”

Another clip shows her examining her sister’s kneecap, underscoring their shared experience in rehabilitation.

Karin mentioned it was her first appointment with a new physical therapist, but Lindsey didn’t elaborate on how Karin got injured.

This development comes shortly after Karin, 33, supported Lindsey through nearly two weeks in a Milan hospital, where she was confined due to multiple surgeries.

Lindsey, 41, had faced a critical moment following her fall, where doctors considered amputating her left leg after the mishap during the women’s downhill event at the Milan-Cortina Games.

As for her current state, Lindsey is in a wheelchair but plans to transition to crutches as her rehabilitation progresses. She noted, “It will take about a year for all the bones to heal, then we will decide whether to remove the metal and ultimately repair the ACL.” She emphasized that it’s going to be a lengthy recovery process, but she’s optimistic stating, “At least I can get out of the hospital.”

Lindsey has been candid about her struggles, both physically and mentally, regarding her present injuries.

In a series of tweets, she expressed that she isn’t ready to discuss her skiing future yet. “My focus was on recovering from my injury and getting back to normal life,” she wrote. Reflecting on her past, she mentioned, “I’ve already been retired for six years and have had a great life outside of skiing.” She highlighted that at this stage in her life—41—only she can define her future path. It may involve racing again, but maybe not. “I’ll decide when I’m ready,” she stated firmly.

Finally, just last month, Lindsey’s father, Alan Kildow, stirred some conversation when he said he expected her skiing career to come to an end following the Olympic incident.
