Messi Celebrates MLS Cup Victory

Lionel Messi celebrated his first MLS Cup win with an affectionate embrace with his wife, Antonella, on Saturday.

After Inter Miami triumphed over Vancouver with a score of 3-1 in the final, the 38-year-old star shared a moment in a private box at Fort Lauderdale’s Chase Stadium. ESPN cameras captured them celebrating, complete with a kiss.

Antonella, who has been by Messi’s side since their marriage in 2017, later joined him on the field alongside his teammates and their partners for the victory celebrations.

“This is a beautiful and emotional moment for us and for the people of Miami as we achieved our MLS goal,” Messi remarked. He noted that this championship marked a significant achievement for the relatively new club. “We were lucky enough to win a title previously, but this was our main goal – to win MLS and reach the top of the American league, and thankfully, we made it happen.”

The win comes just about two years after Messi announced his move to the MLS club, co-owned by soccer icon David Beckham.

Beckham, who is now 50, celebrated the win with his wife, Victoria, and their children, sharing hugs with Messi on the field.

“He didn’t just come here to enjoy life in Miami,” Beckham stated. “While his family loves it here, he came to win. That’s just who Leo is. He has the drive and loyalty to his teammates, the city, and the club. Leo is a winner, plain and simple.”

Before joining the MLS, Messi played for Paris Saint-Germain in France from 2021 to 2023.
