Lionel Messi has proven he’s a man of the people ahead of his move to Inter Miami and MLS.
The soccer superstar was spotted shopping for groceries at Publix on Thursday, a day after he arrived in Miami with his wife, Antonella, and their three children. According to the Daily Mail.
The 36-year-old Messi is gearing up to join the MLS side later this month and is expected to make $54 million a year under a contract with Miami.
Messi was apparently loaded with crates of sweet cereal in his cart as he made his way to the cashier, prompting a fan to stop him for a photo.
Thursday was Messi’s second full day in South Florida and an action-packed day for him.

The Argentinian icon announced on June 7 that he would sign Inter Miami in what has been described as a coup d’état for MLS and could be a boon to the sport in the United States.
He will be introduced at an event at the DRV PNK Stadium on Sunday, which the team calls the “reveal”.
In an interview with Argentine TV, Messi vowed to do everything in his power to help the beleaguered MLS team.
Inter Miami are bottom of the Eastern Conference after winning just five games all season.
“My mentality and my head remain the same,” Messi said on Argentine television.
Messi is heading to the United States after playing for Paris Saint-Germain for the past two seasons.
Since 2004, he has scored 496 goals in the domestic league.
