Kate Middleton Takes Charge During Colour Ceremony
In a recent Colour Ceremony, Kate Middleton showcased her leadership, particularly with her youngest son, Prince Louis. The Princess of Wales, aged 43, sparkled as she stood alongside her husband, Prince William, and their three children during the celebration marking King Charles’s official birthday.
As the event wrapped up, the royal family made their way to the Buckingham Palace balcony for the traditional wave and smiles. During the ceremony, Louis was kept in check by his older siblings, George, 11, and Charlotte, 10. Kate had a simple instruction for her seven-year-old: to pay attention to the national anthem.
According to lip reader Jeremy Freeman, she urged Louis to focus as the family prepared for the Air Force flypast. Freeman noted, “The national anthem, Louis, stand up,” as she guided him.
Despite some initial restlessness, Louis eventually turned his attention to the anthem. Alongside his parents and siblings, he also shared the balcony with King Charles and Queen Camilla, both in their seventies.
On the balcony, William and Charles appeared quite impressed by the spectacular military parade and the Red Arrows aerial display. Freeman reported that after the flypast, Prince George excitedly remarked to his father, “Oh, what a day,” to which William responded, “Amazing theatre.”
A particularly charming moment occurred when King Charles engaged in a conversation with the young royals. He pointed out a plane and asked George what it was while chatting with Princess Kate. William chimed in, speculating, “Is that Poseidon?” George, who is currently learning to fly, confirmed, “It’s Poseidon.”
This ceremony held particular significance for King Charles, especially amid his ongoing health concerns. After sharing his diagnosis in February 2024, he aimed to project a sense of unity before the public.
A palace insider commented, “It’s a show of strength. The king is determined to fulfill his duties despite his diagnosis.” Grant Harold, the king’s former butler, emphasized the importance of the event, stating, “It’s vital for the royals to come together and present a united front.”
