List: 47 more Big Lots stores across 25 states set to close; total surpasses 350

(NEXSTAR) — Nearly 50 more Big Lots stores in half of the states are joining a growing list of stores closing as part of the retail industry. bankruptcy filing.

Since Big Lots filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy earlier this monthmore than 340 stores were designated for closure. As of September 29, more than 30 stores had closed and been removed from the chain's website.

Big Lots has already confirmed that it plans to close about 250 stores by mid-January, in addition to about 300 stores that have closed or will close soon.

Below is the latest list of stores, with 47 stores in 25 states preparing to close. As before, Nexstar found a banner on each store's webpage that read “This store is closing,” advertising up to 20% off sales with “limited exceptions.”

These impending closures will reduce Big Lots' footprint by at least 393 stores (previously announced closure information can be found here). Some of the stores previously targeted for closure (32 stores in 16 states) have since decided to close.

Idaho, Iowa, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas were among the few states that initially had no plans to close stores (Big Lots has stores in every state except Alaska and Hawaii). Since then, that list has dwindled. Delaware, mississippi, nebraska, north dakota, rhode islandand west virginia.
