Kamala Harris’ New Book “107 Days” Sparks Controversy
Kamala Harris’ latest book, “107 Days,” reveals some behind-the-scenes insights on how her team shapes political narratives. Interestingly, a year after making her decision to exit President Joe Biden’s campaign, the book discusses her rationale for selecting Tim Waltz as her running mate.
However, the publication has also ruffled some feathers among Democrats. An anonymous advisor to a possible 2028 Democratic contender expressed concerns to Politico, stating that Harris “decided to write a gossip book that emphasizes the pettiness of her politics.” This sentiment echoes a broader frustration, as the advisor commented, “It’s quite wild that she chose to focus on gossip when people are looking for true vision and leadership at this critical moment.” They added that it feels embarrassing for both her and the Democratic Party, given her leadership role just a year prior.
In a separate incident on Tuesday, a Philadelphia talk radio show featured a clip from Harris’ audiobook that raised eyebrows. The audio’s tempo seemed off, with listeners jokingly questioning whether she was possibly intoxicated. The way she dragged out her words in the recording gave off that impression, perhaps unintentionally.
In a lighthearted moment, one of the show’s hosts even posed the question via Twitter: “Are you sure Kamala Harris wasn’t drinking while recording her new audiobook?” The clip circulated quickly, showcasing the unusual delivery of her narration.
Back in July, Harris shared a TikTok video addressing speculation about her time away from the public eye. In it, she humorously remarked that while some might assume she was enjoying margaritas at the beach, the reality was much different. “It’s been a struggle writing books and meeting with leaders, thinking about our country’s future,” she quipped.
Sure, she likely wasn’t under the influence while recording her book. But, I mean, who wouldn’t want a drink after going through something like that? I can imagine it being tough; sometimes, it feels like the only way to handle a painful experience is to laugh it off or lighten the mood a bit.
