LIV Golf finishes its season in the United States.
The Saudi-backed circuit announced Wednesday that Maridor Golf Club in Carrollton, Texas, a Dallas suburb, will host the league’s season-ending team championship from Sept. 20-22.
This will be the 14th time the event has been held this season and the seventh time it has been held in the United States.
“LIV Golf players are looking forward to playing in the Dallas-Fort Worth region, which has a great golf tradition,” said Greg Norman, CEO of LIV Golf.
“Texas is known for producing and hosting great golfers who aim high for championships, and the LIV Golf Team Championship at Marido Golf Club will be a fantastic experience for all players and spectators.”
Interestingly, Wednesday’s announcement came the same week that the PGA Tour visits the Dallas-Fort Worth area: Colonial Country Club, which has hosted a PGA Tour event every year since 1946, is set to once again welcome the world’s best players to this week’s Charles Schwab Challenge.
The Dallas area has hosted some great tournaments over the years, including the Colonial and the CJ Cup Byron Nelson. The Dallas Athletic Club recently hosted the U.S. Open Qualifier, but LIV Golf’s Sergio Garcia narrowly missed out.
The area is home to many of golf’s top players, including Scottie Scheffler and Jordan Spieth.
However, the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex has never hosted a LIV golf event. However, this year, things will change completely in the championship, the final race of the season. This championship will be his second LIV tournament held in Texas this year. His next scheduled event, his LIV Golf, will be held in June at the Houston Golf Club.
The remaining schedule for the 2024 LIV golf season is as follows:
- LIV Golf Houston — Houston Golf Club — June 7-9
- LIV Golf Nashville — The Grove — June 21-23
- LIV Golf Andalusia — Real Club Valderrama — July 12-14
- LIV Golf UK — JCB Golf and Country Club — July 26-28
- LIV Golf Greenbrier — Old White at Greenbrier — August 16-18
- LIV Golf Chicago — Bolingbrook Golf Club — September 13-15
- Team Championship Dallas — Marido Golf Club — Sept. 20-22
