LIV Golf’s Greg Norman had ‘powerful’ Masters with fans

AUGUSTA, Ga. — LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman spent three days at the Masters with tickets he bought to watch and cheer on LIV players, and on Sunday he posted about his experience on Instagram. I posted a message about.

The following was written there: “The days I spent at Augusta, surrounded by the heart of golf, walking behind the ropes for the first time and spending time with my patrons, were very powerful and emotional.

“There were thousands, if not thousands, of people, from drivers to parking lot attendants to security guards to concession servers (I had my first ham and cheese sandwich and peach ice cream sandwich) to the people who managed Gallery Cross. Hundreds of people participated. But most importantly, thank you to all our @themasters patrons for your unanimous support.

“It was humbling and moving, and I was energized by your words of encouragement – ‘Thank you for all you do for golf’…’Don’t quit…’ ‘I love you LIV’; These words resonated with me personally and emotionally – ‘Welcome home.’

“My right hand is starting to hurt from shaking hands with each and every one of you and hugging so many people. Golf is golf, on the sacred grounds of Augusta, (our foundation). The healthy competition resonated throughout the country. Thank you for the wonderful and emotional memories of the three days! And to all the players playing in the final round today, enjoy the purity of the upcoming match and play hard and concentrate. Please. Golf is always a winner!”

Norman was one of the most tragic figures at the Masters, coming close to winning the green jacket twice but losing.

In 1987, Larry Mize famously chipped in for birdie and beat him in a playoff, but in 1996, Norman lost a six-shot lead going into the final round and lost to Nick Faldo.

Norman has never won the Masters.
