LIV golfer Pat Perez mourned the death of his brother Mike Perez on Monday.
Perez, who joined LIV Golf in 2022, posted a heartbreaking post on Instagram for his 43-year-old brother.
Perez did not disclose how his brother died.

“Today is the saddest day of my life. My brother Mikey passed away,” Perez wrote in the caption. “I don’t know what to say because I thought this day would never come. We had so much fun growing up together and he was always in my corner. We did everything together. He only wanted my happiness and was so proud of me. He was the life of the party.”
“Everyone who knew him loved him and was always a happy and bright person. I can’t believe I won’t be able to call him anymore and spend time with him. He was such a big part of my life that losing him is shocking beyond shock. I am truly speechless.”

Mike Perez was a golf professional and teacher who competed on the Korn Ferry Tour. He made his one PGA appearance during the 2010 Children’s He Miracle Network Classic.

Many in the golf community commented on Perez’s post, showing support for his fellow golfers during this difficult time.
“I’m so sorry because this is the worst news!” John Daly commented. “My dear brother, and we all know he’s gone! Thinking of you all.
“My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family PP,” Perez’s 4th ace teammate at LIV Golf, Peter Wheline, also commented.

Perez won his first PGA Tour victory at the 2009 Bob Hope Classic. He won the OHL Classic in Mayakoba in 2016 and the CIMB Classic in 2017.
