Blake Lively Challenges Claims of Emotional Distress
Blake Lively has urged for the retraction of her claims regarding emotional distress linked to “It Ends With Us.” Recently, Bardoni’s legal team requested that the 37-year-old actress provide medical records, including therapy notes and the identity of her mental health provider, to dismiss her initial claims.
Instead of providing the requested medical information, Lively’s lawyers informed Bardoni’s team that she has decided to withdraw her emotional distress claim. However, it appears there’s a catch. The Wayfarer parties argued that Lively did not accept their reasonable request to withdraw the claim “with prejudice,” meaning that she wants to keep the option open to refile it in the future. This situation has left room for potential complications, as she seems to want to maintain her rights while not providing evidence to support her claim.
Taylor Swift Involved in the Legal Troubles
In a statement, Lively’s attorneys, Esra Hudson and Mike Gottlieb, expressed frustration, saying that the litigation involved is merely being used for sensationalist purposes in the media. They pointed out that the strategy deployed by Bardoni and Wayfarer to issue retaliation claims could expose them to significant legal repercussions under California law. Furthermore, Lively’s ongoing claims of emotional distress are part of a broader lawsuit that includes accusations of sexual harassment and retaliation, seeking substantial damages.
Lively first filed against Bardoni in December, bringing up allegations of sexual harassment, retaliation, and emotional distress connected to the film “It Ends With Us.” Bardoni subsequently counter-sued her for $400 million, prompting Lively’s husband, Ryan Reynolds, to speak out against what he describes as defamation.
The Ongoing Drama
The situation has only escalated, with Bardoni’s team releasing what they say is unedited footage from the film set, hoping to support their claims. The two parties have also been called out for turning their dispute into something resembling high school drama.
Amid all this, Lively has faced significant pressure, including a request for a gag order against Bardoni’s lawyer, which Bardoni’s team has labeled as “blackmail tactics.” A judge has since mandated that both sides adhere to New York’s professional conduct rules, limiting press interactions.
Reflecting on the past year, Lively described it as filled with “low points” during an appearance on “Late Night with Seth Meyers.” She has expressed concerns about women’s fear to speak out, acknowledging her gratitude for being in a position to share her experience while recognizing that many feel silenced.
The trial is scheduled to take place in March 2026, and it seems the narrative will continue to unfold as both sides prepare for battle. It’s unpredictable what the future holds for this ongoing legal saga.
