It was a classic smash-and-grab, with the hosts dominating for most of the match. Alisson kept the visitors in the match with nine saves and Harvey Elliot ensured the visitors left the French capital with something, scoring moments after he came off the bench, the goal coming completely against the run of play.

Important Events

6 minutes: The ball falls to Sarah and he can avoid some defenders before taking a curl shot. He can't whip it, and it's just wide. The forward falls into the pile of floors in frustration, but the crowd cheers him on. In these opening minutes, we've seen more than we did in the 90 full-time return from Liverpool to Paris.

Share

4 minutes: Huge blocks! Mac Allister puts the bowl in a box and throws it into a free Sarah. The Egyptians take a shot and head towards the target, but the ball bounces off Mendes' knees. He gets a huge roar from Donnarumma accordingly.

Share

2 minutes: Hakimi knits a ball from Sarah. And Sarah kneels it out of him, which creates a loud cheer. Ball lands at Gravenberch, but he is crowded with Navy shirts.

Share

1 minute: An early foul by Jota against Hakimi as Liverpool aims to start quickly. Alexander Arnold tries to find Diaz with a long ball, but it's far away.

Kick-off: Liverpool 0-0 Paris Saint-Germain. AGG 1-0

Some predictions and analysis from the post bag before Kick-Off!

invoice:

It is very likely that one of the most exciting cyclists from PSG Superfan and previous French generation Thibaut Pinot will be on Merseyside tonight. If anyone knows to come from behind, stomp, climb that mountain, reach for a thrilling bag of heroes to get victory, it's him.

That will be great, but Liverpool will win 2-1 tonight.

Stephen:

Given that a good comparison chart (see 19:12 GMT) is generally inferior to the French items, this really does a flat Dembele!

Michael:

I don't know if anyone actually paid attention to what happened in Paris. Liverpool is sad and doubts Fortune will once again support them. I really watch PSG slap them tonight.

Kieran:

These statistics remind us of the old Wenger quote. “Liverpool, they don't win the league at home, but in Europe they do. Why? Anfield. Home games, return games, this is the most heated stadium in Europe. That's the only place you don't want to go.”

The state-owned clubs do not exactly enjoy the warmest welcome there. Ask Man City. PSG is cutting out their work for them. The gakpo is back. Play a game that makes you proud of Klopp!

The last time these teams met at Anfield…👁️✋

Liverpool's Roberto Famino scored in the 3-2 thriller.

Statistics are not often read by Paris Saint-Germain. The final 15 French sides of playing away from home against European English opponents ended with 14 people losing and could not win. The final victory came from PSG against Manchester United in 2020-21.

Having won all four home Champions League matches this season, Liverpool has made progress from their past 14 knockout stage tie in the competition. The last side to eliminate them after Liverpool took on Bayer Leverkusen from 2001-2002.

But it's all said, so… Luis Enrique's side was fantastic last week. Mendes stayed firmly with Sarah all night, reducing to 41 touches, shots and successful dribbling (from four attempts). The only drawback of the Portuguese was that they got off when Elliott got off.

PSG also implemented a great press that forces Allison and Vandic to play long games (which failed quite a bit).

Post bag before the first match! It brings you some fun analyses, predictions and reminds of classic smash and grabs.

Peter:

Paris may boast the Eiffel Tower, but it was Allison who raised his eyes in the City of Light. May he and the Reds give French visitors a memorable lesson today. Completely, 'Arez Arez! ”

Justin:

The worst European smash and grab was the 1975 European Cup final, when Leeds completely abolished Bayern Munich. Beckenbauer The referee was denied a penalty and somehow beaten 2-0. It was also found on the PSG's home ground. God, that was a robbery… 50 years from now, I'm not bitter anymore. But I was still a little hurt.

Gary:

Rafa v Jose's year counts if both teams decide to smash and grab in the same game and peak in the second leg of the 1-0 Champions League? A game determined by the goal of “ghost” rather than a real-life score? *

*Cech would have been dispatched, but it was not often said to be ruining the story.

Kieran:

Of course, do you think this is actually on the forefront of the real world next year, as a practice to face Arsenal in essence? The Imo Luis Enrique is probably the best option to replace the Arteta, which is running in smoke at this point. And of course, I ask that obligatory question at this point: what about the stand's chuchel?

It's unclear if Tuchel, who named his first England team on Friday, will be at Anfield tonight. I'll keep an eye on it!

Chris:

It definitely predicts a great game. I think the slots will catch them cold, PSG expects they'll try to become normal controlled Liverpool, but crop-style heavy metal start, Liverpool expects to be two in the first 20.

The top scorers in each league will head straight tonight. Neither of them scored in the first leg. What will their impact be tonight?

Mohamed Salah v Ousmane Dembélé

Therefore, both teams field the exact same XI as the first leg.

Slots will make three changes to the Liverpool team that faced Southampton on Saturday: Robertson, McAlistair and Jota will replace Tsimikas, Jones and Núñez. The gakpo fits well on the bench after recovering from an ankle knock.

As expected, Louis Enrique revives the eight changes made against his victory over Rennes.

The team's news is coming soon, with both sides expecting to adopt the strongest XI tonight.

Slots confirms that Cody Gakupo is competing for the match after returning from the knock, but Tyler Morton (shoulder), Joe Gomez (hamstring) and Connor Bradley (hamstring) miss out.

During the 3-1 with Southampton, Slot chose to remove Dominique Schizoboschlei at halftime and later said he may have made a “mistake” by hiring the Hungarian. Will he nod Harvey Elliott tonight tonight?

Luis Enrique's has chosen to bring a perfectly fitted team to Merseyside and take a break from almost all of his best XIs for his team meeting with Rennes. Ousmane Dembélé, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Vitinha, Fabián Ruiz, Achraf Hakimi, Markinhos, Nuno Mendes and Gianluigi Donnarumma will be on the team sheet after being dropped over the weekend.

PSG's Luis Enrique has made it “unquestionable” that those who win the tie of the night will reach the final set for May 31 at Munich's Allianz Arena.

Our goal is clear: to try to get better than our opponents. Away matches are always more difficult, but we are confident that we are doing well. They also know what needs to be improved. We want to have more balls than our opponents. This will help you understand what possibilities arise.

One thing is for sure, out of the two games, there are two candidates who will win the Champions League, two of the best teams in Europe. Anyone who wins tomorrow will advance to the final, I'm sure.

Let's start with what the manager had to say before the tie. Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has branded PSG as the most inform side in Europe and knows his team must be near perfect to move forward.

I think so [that the best performance of the season will be needed] Because PSG is the most complete team we have ever faced. What I mean completely is that we are facing Arsenal and the city, and although they are not a big margin, the strength they play in combination with the quality they have is one of the richest clubs. There could be one club a little further ahead.

They have so many quality and excellent managers. They play in ways that teams aren't easy to play against. He brings the best for all players and brings out an incredible workplace. We must be at our best. But we didn't own the ball on City Away, the richest club in the world, along with Paris Saint-Germain. At home, there were totally different performances against the city.

preamble

On a flight from Paris last week, the Liverpool players may have counted their lucky stars after losing Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 in the first leg of the final 16th tie in the Champions League.

It was a classic smash and grab, with the hosts dominating most of the match. Allison kept the visitors in the match with nine saves, and Harvey Elliott guaranteed that the visitors left the French capital on something and scored after leaving the bench, and the goal came fully against the run of play.

The tie is not finished. The hungry PSG side is hoping to correct the loss last Wednesday and record Liverpool better-looking another famous night at Anfield under the lights.

There will be a quarter-final spot and take part in the CET kickoff at 8pm/9pm. As always, feel free to send thoughts, predictions, questions, complaints, and your favorite Champions League smashes and grabs.
