Main Events
Kick-off: Arsenal 0-0 Bolton
The whistle blows and Bolton's dark green kit takes on Arsenal's classic red and white, with the first night match now underway at the Emirates Stadium!
Europa League early results:
AZ Alkmaar 3-2 IF Elfsborg
BodΓΈ/Glimt 3-2 Porto
Mikel Arteta speaks before the match On why he's starting 16-year-old Porter:
He's a great character, it's a big jump for him but a great experience.
On the mix of veteran and young players in the XI:
“I want them to show what they are showing in training every day. The lads are surrounded by a lot of experienced players. They have been waiting for this. You could see it in the smiles on their faces when I told them yesterday.
About Sterling:
He's taking the right steps, he's feeling really good, he's been waiting for the start.
About Bolton:
I understand there are 4,000 supporters here tonight so it's a special night for them and it's going to be a tough game.
Some early emails have already arrived!
Anthony laments Arteta's choice.
Why, why take a risk on Saka?
Marcus is asking his team to look back.
I'm sure Bolton can bring out the best in their 1994 squad against Arsenal and, although it may seem ominous, they should be able to beat a 16-year-old goalkeeper.
Sumaya:
It's a big test for Julen Lopetegui. Sure, he's made some changes, but they're still very experienced players. So far, this new era at West Ham hasn't impressed me. I hope they don't just hire Moyes 2.0! COYI
Carter:
No matter what anyone says, I love the Europa League and I think the best match tonight is Nice vs Real Sociedad.
The Europa League will increase to 36 teams and the format will be very different. Ryan Benson has powered up the Opta supercomputer and it has found that Porto are favourites to win (although they are currently behind), Manchester United are the sixth favourite due to their inconsistent form, and Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce are outsiders.
Read on to find out what else the supercomputer has to say:
Bolton may have dropped down the English league table but they were a bit of a tough team for Arsenal to deal with during their time in the top flight. Stelios Giannakopoulos and Justin Hoyt reminisce about Big Sam ruining Arsene Wenger's party during a league match.
That said, they also had some great moments against Arsenal in cup matches.
