Olivia “Livi” Dunn had quite the moment at a recent Pirates game that unexpectedly took off on social media, leading to a notable partnership with Secret Deodorant.
The former LSU gymnast, who snagged an NCAA title in 2024, shared that this collaboration came about after her boyfriend, Pirates pitcher Paul Skeens, made headlines for sweat stains on his shirt. This happened during his impressive sophomore season, where he maintained a sub-2.00 ERA against the Reds on September 24.
In local TV footage, Dunn was seen approaching Skeens from a private suite at Great American Ball Park. He had his hands raised and seemed noticeably anxious, which caught everyone’s attention online.
“I see your girlfriend is sweating from stress, and she took the trouble to notice it,” a character named Dan quipped in the Secret ad, tossing his damp shirt away. “I know it sounds odd, but yes, girls sweat too.”
“We didn’t have Secret back then, but thankfully we’re collaborating with them now. Secret Clinical tackles stress, workouts, and the casual ‘Oh no, I sweat.’ Now you can cheer without worrying about replays.”
This partnership is just one of many for Dunn, who has become a face of the NIL era. Sports Illustrated’s brand collection includes various companies like Vuori, American Eagle, Nautica, and more.
Dunn was quick to poke fun at her “stress sweat” during the incident while it was trending online. She even shared the video on her Instagram Story at the time, saying, “You can’t blame a woman for being nervous.”
During that game, Skeens pitched six scoreless innings but ended up with a no-decision, and the Pirates came out on top. His final season stats featured an astounding 1.97 ERA, making him the youngest pitcher with an ERA below 2.00 since Dwight Gooden achieved a 1.53 with the Mets back in 1985, as noted by MLB.
Following the season, Dunn and Skeens took a vacation in Italy, putting a nice bow on an eventful year.
