Olivia “Livi” Dunn’s gymnastics career isn’t over yet.
Dunn, 21, who helped bring LSU’s program its first-ever NCAA championship in April, announced Monday that she will return for her fifth and final year of eligibility with the Lady Tigers, sharing the news in a social media video with the caption “Not Dunn yet.”
“These last four years have changed my life. There’s something special about putting on that purple and gold leotard,” Dunn began, “…and no matter how many opportunities you have off the mat, there’s something special about LSU. That’s why I say I’m not done yet.”
“Good luck with your fifth year.”
Monday’s news came after Dunn recently told The Washington Post in an exclusive interview that she was contemplating her future as a gymnast.
The New Jersey native also ruled out a shot at the Olympics.
“I once competed for the U.S. team, but I finished that chapter and went to Louisiana State University, so I don’t plan on competing in the Olympics or anything beyond that,” she said.
Dunn was one of four seniors on the 2023-24 gymnastics tournament list, along with Elena Arenas, Haley Bryant and Chase Bullock. Roster, This included seven graduate students.
Bryant, the 2024 NCAA overall champion, and Bullock have both announced they will return to the Tigers in 2025 for their final year of eligibility.
Arenas, who was limited her senior season by a back injury, is retiring from competitive gymnastics and announced the news in a June 27 Instagram post.
The Lady Tigers won the national title with a score of 198.225, beating California (197.850), Utah (197.800) and Florida (197.4375) at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth.
“A national championship, that was obviously the end goal,” Dunn told the Post. “It was a great way to end my senior year. I’m just happy that we were able to make history with the whole team.”
