Olivia Dunn’s Transition from Gymnast to Influencer
Olivia Dunn gained significant fame as a gymnast at LSU, particularly after winning a national championship. She currently boasts a massive social media presence with over 7.9 million followers on TikTok and 5.3 million on Instagram. Although she has moved on from being an LSU athlete, there’s one label she seems to resist.
During a recent interview, Dunn expressed her discomfort with being called an “influencer.” Instead, she declared, “I’m a former athlete and honestly, I’m a model now.” She has made waves in the modeling world, notably walking the runway for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, an appearance that garnered considerable media attention.
Advocacy and Business Ventures
Dunn has also been vocal about athlete rights and compensation. In her interview, she pointed out the inequalities in sports, mentioning a situation where a recruit received $12 million from a booster before even setting foot on campus. “That can’t happen in any women’s sport,” she asserted, highlighting ongoing disparities.
On a more positive note, Dunn launched the “Livy Fund” in 2023. This initiative aims to support female LSU student-athletes in maximizing their endorsement opportunities. “The brands I work with are putting money into a fund,” she explained, adding that her sister would help connect those funds with student-athletes looking for work.
Personal Life and Interests
When she’s not managing her brand or the Livy Fund, Dunn enjoys supporting her boyfriend, Paul Skeens, who plays for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Balancing her time between various ventures and personal commitments, she’s navigating life after athletics in a way that many can relate to—embracing change but still holding on to elements of her past.
