The Skenes got off to a dominant start, nevertheless fall, earning one run on six strikeouts and not taking a walk past six innings in the win.

This outing also made a bit of history as Skens and catcher Henry Davis became the first MLB lava material to be selected in the draft.
“[Davis] Skens told reporters. “He’s ready. Not a surprise. I have most of two years with him now. You want to know why he’s the type of player, but you don’t need to look too far. You call the game and catch him and say a lot about it so that he’s in a tough situation.”
