Antifa is often described as a loose collection of independent activists who spontaneously come together to resist authority. But, according to Liz Wheeler of BlazeTV, this portrayal is misleading.
“They claim Antifa is merely an idea. Like the wind. It’s just a set of beliefs,” Wheeler asserts. “These local Antifa chapters are supposedly unconnected—it’s a decentralized network. So, how can you effectively challenge them if they don’t really operate as a single entity?”
“It’s a misconception, intentionally misleading,” she argues. “The truth is, Antifa functions as a well-coordinated group. And when I say coordinated, I mean they’re quite strategic in their deceit,” she adds.
Wheeler clarifies that Antifa often conceals itself behind leftist groups, which act as “shell organizations,” as they require resources, financial backing, and legal assistance.
“They align themselves with organizations like the Socialist Rifle Association or the John Brown Gun Club, which seem to operate independently,” she explains.
Regarding funding, she mentions, “They receive significant financial support—up to $20 million—from individuals like Roy Singham, despite espousing ‘socialist’ ideologies.” Wheeler continues, “Antifa uses these leftist fronts to complicate efforts to identify them, allowing mainstream media outlets to peddle the narrative that Antifa is just a decentralized network.”
“What about legal support?” she poses. “You certainly need legal representation when you’re involved in illicit activities. Antifa does have this support, provided by an organization known as the National Lawyers Guild.”

“Their role is to document instances they can use to accuse police of brutality, as well as to keep a record of Antifa members’ activities for their defense if they’re brought to trial,” Wheeler elaborates.
“The notion that this is a grassroots movement is absurd. This is all highly organized,” she concludes.
