Long Island son killed his deli-owning parents by slitting their throats after being thrown out of their home, according to authorities.

Tragic Incident in Long Island

A Long Island man is accused of killing his parents after they allegedly removed him from their home due to inappropriate behavior with his younger sister at the family deli. During police questioning, he reportedly stated, “the Lord made me kill them.”

Vito D’Ambrosio, 30, faces charges in Nassau County Court for using a 14-inch chef’s knife to fatally stab both his mother and father at their family-run Italian deli. This occurred just nine days after he had been released on previous sex-related charges, officials revealed.

On December 4, at 9:20 a.m., police responded to a horrific crime scene, where Antonio D’Ambrosio, 70, and Angela Prisciano, 62, were found deceased outside the A&A Italian Deli in Bethpage, their bodies covered in blood.

Following the incident, Vito called 911 himself and allegedly admitted to the crime. According to Assistant District Attorney Veronica Guariglia, he confessed to officers, stating, “‘I killed my mother and my father.'” He went on to describe the stabbing, saying they were in the deli and that he had cut himself in the process, too. He added a disturbing detail, mentioning that he had revealed everything on TikTok.

Vito expressed that he felt compelled by a voice he believed was from the Lord, explaining, “I just lost my temper.” He also shared a sentiment of betrayal, saying, “After all I gave them, after all I did for them, they cast me out.”

In a moment of clarity, he acknowledged his actions, stating, “I deserve to go to jail. I deserve a life sentence. They didn’t deserve it. I got a life sentence.”

The weapon used in the attack was reportedly located near the prep counter inside the deli. Prosecutors have not disclosed specifics about the alleged behavior that might have resulted in Vito being expelled from his home, forcing him into living in his car. This incident seems linked to a complaint his sister filed concerning forcible touching; however, his attorney mentioned that the charges are still under consideration.

Nassau County District Attorney Anne Donnelly noted the protection order against Vito, which prevents him from returning to the family home or working at the deli. She speculated that this could have intensified his feelings, saying, “I hate my parents and I can’t believe they’re doing this to me.”

As Vito arrived for his arraignment, he was handcuffed and dressed casually, showing little emotion throughout the proceedings. When Judge Howard Starim asked him to confirm his plea, he simply stated, “I’m not guilty.”

He has been charged with one count of first-degree murder and two counts of second-degree murder, and is being held without bail until his next court date on January 30.

Donnelly expressed her sorrow at the loss of Angela and Antonio, describing how they were beloved figures in the community who ran their deli for over 30 years. She emphasized the heartbreak felt by their regular customers, stating that her office will pursue full accountability for this tragic crime.
