Incident Involves Lawyer and Activists in Minneapolis
Will Stancil, a lawyer from Minnesota known for his liberal views, reported on Monday that he was “hit in the head” during an encounter with masked activists while documenting an anti-ICE operation for a local Rapid Response network in Minneapolis.
A video of this altercation gained traction on X after a user named Aetius shared a clip titled “ANTIFA PUNCHED WILL STANCIL.” Stancil later recounted the event to various news outlets, stating that he was attacked after posting a video from a public area criticizing “fire-stoking agitators” in his neighborhood.
In the footage, Stancil can be heard saying, “Oh, shut up,” while surrounded by masked protesters. He then mockingly repeats, “Oh, no,” seemingly taunting those confronting him, when a sudden muffled thud interrupts him, and the video cuts to black.

“What was my offense? Just telling the mainstream media about the situation,” Stancil expressed on Blue Sky. “I shared videos from public places that had been edited to protect other people’s identities. All I did was speak out against agitators who were setting fires in my neighborhood and I ended up getting punched in the head for it.”
This incident marked the climax of ongoing disputes regarding Stancil’s involvement in the anti-ICE organization. He mentioned on Thursday that allowing a journalist to accompany him “keeps him out of ICE’s rapid response for now,” but he also insisted on a “very strict condition” that the journalist could not identify any other monitors.
Stancil has been actively defending against conservative critiques of Antifa. In a post from January, he addressed misconceptions about his comments, stating, “It’s fine to criticize Antifa, but it’s not okay to equate them with Nazis.”
As of now, it remains uncertain who struck Stancil or if any arrests were made. Stancil didn’t name the person who hit him, and the user who labeled them as “Antifa” offered no further proof beyond the video.
Stancil, a housing policy researcher and professor at the University of Minnesota, has often been dubbed “the most bullied man in America.” He ran for the Minnesota House of Representatives in 2024 but faced various public confrontations with critics from both the left and right, solidifying his reputation as a determined participant in discussions on X and Blue Sky.

Since the July update of Elon Musk’s xAI which relaxed content restrictions, Stancil has become a frequent topic online. Following the update, the chatbot generated disturbing content about him, including detailed instructions for breaking into his home. Later on, he also appeared in “The Will Stancil Show,” which gained millions of views on X.
