'Looksmaxxing' influencer Braden Peters enters a not guilty plea for rape allegation

Braden Peters, Known as “Clavicular,” Enters Not Guilty Plea

Braden Peters, a 20-year-old influencer recognized for his “looksmaxxing” content and online presence under the name “Clavicular,” made his way to a Massachusetts courtroom Thursday, accompanied by a barking dog.

In Orleans District Court, Peters pleaded not guilty to charges related to an alleged rape incident involving a 17-year-old victim that reportedly took place at his family’s home in Cape Cod in 2025. A court clerk confirmed that he secured his release by posting a $10,000 bail connected to the charges.

Notably, a former criminal defense attorney, Ted Williams, commented that having a dog accompany a defendant to court isn’t entirely out of the ordinary, suggesting it might provide emotional support. “People can form strong attachments to their pets—sometimes even stronger than to other people,” he noted, emphasizing that while it’s common for dogs to wait outside, bringing them into the courthouse is generally against protocol.

Peters, who has gained over a million followers on Instagram by rating appearances and offering advice on self-improvement, faces serious allegations. According to previous reports, the victim contacted Peters about creating content together, after which he allegedly sent her an Uber to his residence. Once there, she was said to have been consumed by alcohol to the extent that she was unable to give consent.

In defense of Peters, his attorneys filed a memorandum requesting his release on bail, asserting that he poses no flight risk or danger to the public, proposing measures like surrendering his passport and avoiding any contact with the alleged victim. He was not in custody as he appeared in court via summons and subsequently posted bail.

Peters’ attorney, David Meier, has categorically denied the allegations against him, highlighting the circumstances and timeline, particularly pointing out that the claims arose just as the victim and her attorney were preparing a civil lawsuit against Peters, which raises questions about the motivations behind the allegations.

This isn’t Peters’ first brush with the legal system; he had been arrested previously in Florida on battery charges linked to an incident involving a physical altercation at an Airbnb.

The Cape & Islands District Attorney’s Office refrained from commenting on the recent courtroom proceedings, given the ongoing nature of the case.
