It’s certainly not a trivial situation.
Louis C.K., the comedian, was recently seen sharing a kiss with Mimi O’Donnell, who was in a long-term relationship with the late actor Philip Seymour Hoffman. This event comes over 11 years after Hoffman’s tragic overdose.
The 58-year-old comedian was captured in photographs with O’Donnell while they enjoyed a stroll in New York City over the past weekend. Photos, which surfaced online, showed them embracing, stopping to kiss, and C.K. gently holding O’Donnell’s face in a sweet gesture.
In another moment, he took off his hat before wrapping an arm around O’Donnell, with his small white dog trailing behind them.
A representative for Louis C.K. was contacted for some comments regarding this new development.
O’Donnell and Hoffman were together for 15 years before he sadly passed away on February 2, 2014, at the age of 46 due to a drug overdose.
Although they never formalized their relationship through marriage, they had three children together: Cooper, 22; Talulah, 19; and Willa, 17.
In a heartfelt piece written for a magazine in 2017, O’Donnell opened up about Hoffman’s struggles with addiction and the lasting effects of his loss on her family. She shared that it has been quite a journey since his passing, noting, “It’s been almost four years since Phil passed away, and my children and I are still in a place where we feel that fact every day.” O’Donnell mentioned that they often discuss him, and though the initial heartbreak still lingers, they have made some progress in remembering him fondly.
O’Donnell was also recently in the news for her endorsement of the incoming New York City Mayor, Zoran Mamdani, expressing her enthusiasm for his progressive agenda.
As for Louis C.K., he was married to actress Alix Bailey in 1995. They had two daughters, Kitty, 23, and Mary Louise, 20, but divorced in 2008 after 13 years together.
The unexpected image of C.K. kissing O’Donnell arises nearly eight years after several women accused him of sexual misconduct in a wave of allegations that included claims of non-consensual exposure. C.K. later acknowledged the accusations and issued an apology, admitting his wrongdoings.
Reflecting on the power dynamics at play during those situations, C.K. stated that he understood the admiration women had for him and regretted how he misused that influence.
He recently faced renewed criticism for participating in a comedy festival in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, indicating that he remains a somewhat controversial figure.
