Authorities say a Louisiana teacher sent nude photos to a 15-year-old boy, touched him inappropriately in a car with a young child and feared he wouldn't lose his virginity. He reportedly told the boy that he was there.
Tatum Hatch, 32, exchanged lewd messages with the teen over a period of about a year and a half, including coming through her bedroom window and suggesting she have sex with him, according to court documents. was arrested.
About a year ago, the two met near the victim's home, where Hatch allegedly touched the boy's genitals while the toddler was in a car, court documents said. KTVE reported.
The educator also told the girl on another occasion that she was afraid her first date would be with someone else after the boy told her he was “scared,” the station said.
The relationship exploded when the victim's father found out and called the police.
The boy then showed investigators messages on Instagram between him and the teacher and the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office, KTVE reported. The teacher resigned in late December, when the initial investigation began.
The victim also claimed that Hatch sent her nude selfies, but the photos disappeared because she used Instagram's vanish mode. The nude photos were recovered after a forensic download was conducted, according to court documents.
The newspaper said Hatch admitted to law enforcement in mid-December that she spoke to the boy via Instagram but did not answer some questions for fear of losing the child.
She is charged with solicitation of a minor using a computer.
Hatch resigned from West Monroe High School on Dec. 26 after being appointed superintendent on Dec. 15, according to the Ouachita Parish School Board.
