LSU Tigers Win NCAA Baseball Championship

The LSU Tigers have claimed the NCAA baseball championship after a thrilling victory over Coastal Carolina, finishing the game 5-3 on Sunday. This match marked the conclusion of a three-game Men’s College World Series Finals.

The game was filled with tense moments, particularly in the first inning when Coastal Carolina’s coach, Kevin Schnar, was ejected. Tensions flared as he reacted angrily to a call, shouting at umpire Angel Campos.

Schnar was upset about a missed pitch and didn’t hold back, prompting two umpires to step in between him and Campos. In fact, Campos also tossed out one of Coastal Carolina’s base coaches as the drama unfolded early in the match.

Though LSU initially struggled to score, they quickly caught up after Coastal Carolina took the lead thanks to Dean Mijos’ solo home run in the second inning.

LSU answered back in the third with a key play: Ethan Frey hit a double that brought home Daniel Dickinson, making the score even.

However, the Tigers really came alive in the fourth inning, racking up four runs. Chris Stanfield’s single brought in two runs, followed closely by Derek Culiel’s single, scoring more runners and extending their lead.

Despite not going down without a fight, Coastal Carolina managed to narrow the gap with a two-run homer from Wells Sykes in the seventh.

Yet, LSU’s Anthony Aianson, who pitched for 6.1 innings, allowed Chase Shores to come in and finish strong—he faced just a single hit and struck out four in 2.2 innings.

This victory marks the Tigers’ eighth title, reinforcing their status as a powerhouse in college baseball. They also previously celebrated a championship win in 2023.

It was quite the game, full of intensity and unexpected moments that kept fans on the edge of their seats.
