LSU running back Trey Holly is protesting his innocence for the first time since being charged with attempted second-degree murder.
Holley was one of three people arrested in connection with the Feb. 9 shooting in Farmerville, Louisiana, in which a man was shot in the leg and a woman was shot three times. He became seriously ill.
“As you know, I was recently arrested on three felonies. I was falsely identified, charged, and arrested,” Holly wrote in a Facebook post. Published on Saturday.
“I am 100% innocent and those who know me know that this is not at all in my character. I had no involvement in the incident at all. I was at home and there An incident occurred. An arrest warrant was issued, so I remembered that I wanted to cooperate fully. Since the investigation is currently ongoing, I cannot provide too many details.
“Dear fans, I’m sorry for the confusion, but you know this is not me at all. I look forward to being better than ever and proving my innocence. “To the real people, Thank you for standing by me through this difficult time, I got this and my story will be told one day and it will become a legend.”
In addition to attempted murder, Holley was also charged with unlawful use of a weapon and aggravated criminal damage to property.

Holley turned himself in to the Union Parish Detention Center last Thursday and was held on $512,000 bail.
He has been suspended indefinitely from the LSU football program pending the outcome of the lawsuit.
Holley, a four-star recruit, gained 110 yards on 11 carries last season. 91 of those yards came on Oct. 21 against Army.
