Ludvig Aberg drains first career hole-in-one during third round of Genesis Invitational

For two consecutive weeks, the PGA Tour will have a hole-in-one.

Ludvig Aberg made a hole-in-one at Hall No. 3 in the third round of Genesis Invitational after Emiliano Grillo made one on the famous 16th hole at Phoenix Open last week.

The 25-year-old Aberg was 140 yards away and used a pitching wedge. The hole was slightly down the hill from the teebox.

Aberg landed it just a few feet behind the pin, then it spun and rattles around the hole before falling.

This was the first hole-in of Aberg's PGA Tour career.

Aberg and his reaction to the shot were far more subdued than the infamous response to Grillo on the 16th hole.

Aberg puts his hand in the air and congratulations from his caddy.

Tiger Woods, who plays for the TGL, retreated from his recent mother's death, Genesis Invitational.

Aberg came that day with a 4 under par. At press time, he went second from eight holes to eight holes to second place with Scottie Scheffler and Denny McCarthy.

Davis Thompson is the current leader of the 8-under par.

Patrick Rodgers is sitting at 6 under, while Rory McIlroy, Tony Finau and Samuel Stevens are on -4 in the tournament.

Aberg has won one career since running Pro in 2023 and winning the RSM Classic in 2023.

Despite winning only once in his young career, Aberg was knocking on the door for his next victory.

The Swedish golfer has won 34 of 39 cuts in his career, with 13 top 10 finishes, nine top 5 finishes and four runner-ups.

Aberg hopes his hole-in-one can push him to a victory at the Torrey Pines on Sunday.
