It is only in the age of social media that high-profile murders, like those of Luigi Mangione and his alleged victim, United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson, become cause for public celebration. It is.
“I cannot overstate how alarming the response to this murder is,” says Rafael Mangaal. James Pross In “Zero Hour”. “There's no shortage of people who have a terrible view of social media, but essentially they're celebrating it.”
“The gunman was wearing a very distinctive jacket that looked like it had jumped out of a store,” he continued, adding, “The other day there was a gunman look-alike contest in Washington Square Park. It's like Batman, where a scary person is celebrated for his heinous deeds.”
“I don't want to completely bash the Batman thing, but it's really impressive,” Poulos agreed, noting that it's a lot like Robert Pattinson's Batman brand.
“This is a character who appears as a real detective. This man must solve crimes and unravel mysteries as the city sinks deeper into chaos, anarchy, and evil. You start to see people come up with intricate structures,” he continues.
“And then when they saw how the hits were going down and information like that started coming out, they discovered a backpack, and it was full of Monopoly money, and all over social media. Maybe? ” I think. ”
“It smells like we're being manipulated in some way,” he added.
Continuing with the “Batman” analogy, Mangar said that with the rise of social media, criminals like Mangione can become “Joker” characters themselves if they promote their actions in the right way. He points out that he feels there is a possibility that a “moment'' will occur.
“It's our responsibility to reject that and remind people that this is not a comic book story, this is reality. We can't just take lives on the streets of big cities,” he added. Ta.
