On Wednesday, a pleasant breeze from the Pacific swept through the vibrant Manhattan Beach area, where NBA star Luka Doncic has recently moved.
The leading scorer in the league—who has captured everyone’s attention in basketball—has officially settled into his $25 million abode, which he acquired from tennis legend Maria Sharapova last September. Arriving in a black Cadillac Escalade, he looked unfazed by the personal issues making headlines.
The California Post managed to capture exclusive pictures of Doncic arriving at his beachside pad. He stepped out dressed in a black Lakers tracksuit, shielding his eyes with sunglasses and carrying a black duffel bag. Accompanying him was Lara Beth Seeger, his Chief Brand Officer and Business Manager, who appeared composed despite her own complicated relationship with her ex-fiancée Anamaria Gortes.
Earlier that Tuesday, Doncic found himself in a different light when the NBA slapped him with a $50,000 fine for what the league deemed an “inappropriate and unprofessional gesture” towards a referee during a recent game against the Knicks, which the Lakers won 110-97. Later, another piece of news made waves in the sports community—Gortes, a Slovenian model and influencer, filed for child support and legal fees in a Los Angeles court.
This legal action has ignited a custody dispute involving their two daughters, Gabriela, born in 2023, and Olivia, who came into the world in December of the previous year.
In a statement to ESPN, Doncic confirmed the end of his engagement, saying, “I love my daughters more than anything. I’ve tried everything to have them together in America for the season, but that didn’t work out, so we made the hard choice to separate.”
The circumstances surrounding their split seemed both intricate and emotional for Doncic. Reports indicate he was caught off guard by the legal move from California, especially considering one daughter had only been in the state for a short time while the other has never been there.
Their relationship spans nearly a decade, beginning when they were younger. They started dating in 2016, and Doncic proposed in July 2023.
Records mentioned that Gortes went back to Slovenia on May 5, 2025, staying there until Olivia’s birth last December. When Doncic visited her at Kranj Maternity Hospital on December 6, the rift between them had become even more pronounced.
Police were called to a dispute involving Doncic and Gortes’ older daughter due to a disagreement about travel plans, but investigations showed no criminal activity, allowing Doncic to return to the U.S. peacefully.
Since that incident, distance has only increased.
Amidst these personal struggles, Doncic has still managed to shine on the court.
Despite having not seen his daughters since that incident, he has filed a request in a Slovenian court for immediate contact.
And yet, on the basketball floor, he’s been exceptional. Currently leading the league with an impressive 32.5 points per game, Doncic scored 31 points during the Lakers’ 120-106 victory over the Timberwolves, just hours after the news about child support surfaced.
With three consecutive wins, he’s helped the Lakers climb to fourth in the Western Conference.
So, when Doncic closed the door of his Manhattan Beach home on Wednesday, his demeanor remained unchanged, just as it has all season.
No need for concern.
He remained focused.
Even if his off-court situation is becoming more complex, on the court, his control of the game—what made him a superstar—remains strong.
The Lakers took a break from practice on Wednesday but are set to face the Bulls on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Crypto.com Arena.
