Lakers supporters eager to see Luka Doncic at the 2026 NBA All-Star Game will be pleased to learn he plans to participate.
The Los Angeles star announced on Saturday that he’s ready to hit the court for the event at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood.
“I’m feeling pretty good,” Doncic shared, even though he’s dealing with some hamstring issues. “I’ve been working hard to get back. I really wanted to play in the last game against the Lakers, but it just didn’t work out. I was so close.”
“So, I think I’ll just play it by ear,” he added.
This month, Doncic faced a lower-body injury, which kept him out of the final four games for the Lakers. He had been warming up for their last matchup against the Mavericks but ultimately decided to sit that one out. The Lakers managed to win 124-104 without him.
It’s uncertain how long Doncic will actually play in the All-Star Game, but he casually mentioned plans to “play a little bit,” while assuring fans he doesn’t intend to show up LeBron James during the game.
“No,” Doncic joked. “I’m not going to try to dunk on LeBron.”
This year’s All-Star Game will feature three teams: the USA Stripes, USA Stars, and the World team, competing in a round-robin format. Each of the four games is expected to last about 12 minutes.
Doncic will be representing the World team, while James will play for the Stripes. The first game is set to start at 2:00 PM PT.
