Luka Doncic recently shared a quieter moment from his life, offering fans a glimpse into his family life after a tumultuous 2026.

The Los Angeles Lakers player posted a touching photo with his daughters on his Instagram, hinting at the personal aspects of being a father since his split from ex-fiancée Anamaria Gortes.

In the picture, the 27-year-old is seen comfortably seated on a couch, with his two daughters nestled on his lap.

This post comes amid some ongoing personal challenges for Doncic and Gortes, who have two daughters together. They welcomed Gabriella in November 2023 while Doncic was still with the Dallas Mavericks, and their second child, Olivia, arrived in December 2025 in Slovenia.

Just a few months after announcing Olivia’s birth, Doncic confirmed the end of his engagement to Gortes.

“I love my daughters more than anything and they will always be number one in my life,” Doncic remarked earlier this year, emphasizing his commitment to family.

However, legal matters have emerged, with Gortes reportedly filing for child support and legal fees in California. Doncic’s legal team intends to dismiss this petition, while the critical hearing has been rescheduled for August 14th.

On a more positive note, Doncic expressed his desire for joint custody and to spend more time with his daughters in the U.S. These familial priorities are influencing his summer plans. He made it known in May that he would not join the Slovenian national team this summer, opting instead to focus on family and recovery.

Meanwhile, Doncic faces a significant transition on the court. With LeBron James leaving the Lakers, Doncic has become their clear focal point. The team has since revamped its roster around him, bringing in players like Walker Kessler, Quentin Grimes, Kevon Looney, and Collin Sexton to enhance their shooting and support.

Doncic’s last season was full of highs and lows. He achieved first-team All-NBA honors for the sixth time, secured fourth in MVP voting, and dominated the league with an average of 33.5 points per game. Unfortunately, he couldn’t participate in the postseason due to a Grade 2 hamstring injury.

As the Lakers enter a new chapter, Doncic’s focus remains steadfast on his daughters.
