Luka Doncic celebrated his 25th birthday on Wednesday night. dallas mavericks traveled to take on toronto raptors, and he is currently enjoying the best season of his phenomenal young career. There are probably fewer than five players in the world who have had a better season than Luka. Luka is averaging career highs in points (34.5 points per game) and assists (9.6 points per game) and is shooting a career-best 38.4 percent from three. This is the greatest player of all time, and he’s just beginning to reach his prime.
The Mavericks are locked in a tight battle in the Western Conference playoffs, trying to avoid the play-in tournament. Only 1.5 games separate the No. 5 and No. 8 seeds in the West heading into Wednesday night. Even with the trade deadline addition, the Mavs still need Luka to provide nightly magic.
The iconic moment of Luka’s magic occurred near the end of the first quarter against Toronto. Luka drove down the middle of the lane and threw a perfect pass behind the head hook pass that hit teammate Tim Hardaway Jr. on the corner three. Watch the video here:
Luka threw some. Absolutely outrageous pass. This season, this one is near the top of the list. How many other players in the league would even attempt that pass, let alone throw it with pinpoint accuracy and speed?
It’s scary to see Luka getting better and better considering he’s always been good since entering the league. Dallas needs him at his best every night, that’s for sure.
