Arizona Man Re-Arrested on Unrelated Charges
Authorities in Arizona report that a man previously detained in connection with the unresolved kidnapping of Nancy Guthrie has faced another arrest, but this time it’s for entirely different allegations.
Luke Daley, aged 37, was taken into custody at the Pima County Adult Detention Complex on September 30, 2026. A spokesperson for the Pima County Sheriff’s Department clarified that his latest arrest has no ties to the Guthrie case.
Daley has an extensive criminal history, which includes several felony convictions. Notably, he was pulled over by police on February 13 while in a Culver’s parking lot, leading to a raid at his mother’s house as part of the investigation into Guthrie’s abduction from her home approximately two miles away in Tucson’s Catalina Foothills neighborhood.
Following the traffic stop, Daley was released without any charges later that day.
As it stands, there are no named suspects in Guthrie’s abduction, and her current location remains unknown. Additionally, a masked individual seen in footage from a doorbell camera around the time of her disappearance also hasn’t been apprehended.
Daley’s attorney, Chris Scileppi, asserted that his client has no connection to Guthrie and lacks any information regarding her kidnapping. He expressed hope that Guthrie would be safely returned to her family, emphasizing that both Daley and his mother share the community’s concern.
However, Daley is facing unresolved drug and firearm charges and was already on probation for other drug and weapon-related offenses. His probation’s revocation has been requested by the prosecutors.
For anyone who may have information regarding Guthrie’s case, authorities urge contacting the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI or reaching out to Tucson’s Crime Stoppers at 520-88-CRIME. There remains over $1.2 million in rewards for information leading to her discovery.
As a reminder, Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of “Today” co-host Savannah Guthrie, has been missing for over eight months now.
Recently, her family received two notes purportedly from her kidnappers via online tips submitted to the media. One note demanded a ransom, while the other ominously claimed that she had passed away unexpectedly. Investigators are still trying to verify the authenticity of these notes and determine who sent them.
