Luke Perry’s daughter Sophie Perry has shared a heartwarming tribute to her father’s co-star and friend, Shannen Doherty.
The 24-year-old shared a black-and-white photo of Perry and Doherty embracing each other on “Beverly Hills High Black and White,” which appears to be a still from the show’s famous prom episode.

Doherty died on Saturday after a long battle with breast cancer.

Perry suffered a fatal stroke and passed away in 2019. He shared Sophie and son Jack with his ex-wife Rachel Minnie Sharp, whom he was married to from 1993 to 2003.
Perry and Doherty remained close after starring together on the teen drama.
Gabrielle Carteris, who played Andrea on the show, spoke of the pair’s friendship in her tribute to Doherty, writing, “So young. So sad. Rest in peace.” [Shannen.] I know Luke will love you with open arms.”
During a panel at MegaCon Orlando earlier this year, Doherty got emotional while speaking about Perry’s sudden passing.

“It was devastating,” the Charmed star told People magazine. “Anytime someone brings up Luke, I have a visceral reaction because I’m the one with cancer, and it was stage four, really bad cancer, and I thought I was going to be the first to die, so when Luke was mentioned, it really hit me.”
according to New York Post, Doherty also admitted during the panel that there were moments when the pair “weren’t as close” during their time on 90210.
“But then we became very close,” she said, “so to lose him at a time when our relationship was just blossoming as friends and our respect and admiration for each other was at an all-time high was very tough.”

Perry was starring in the CW series “Riverdale” at the time of his death, and Doherty paid tribute to the show’s star with a cameo appearance.
“I was crying. I was like, ‘Yeah, of course I’m in,'” she said on “Live” in 2019. “It’s like his wish. It’s so beautiful and special.”
Perry spoke about Doherty during a “90210” panel at RewindCon in Chicago in 2019, saying, “None of us would be here today without Shanann. She’s actually played a huge role in the success of the show.”

He continued, Per person“She taught me a lot. I was really glad to have her by my side as a scene partner. Whatever issues anyone has talked about with Shanann, I can always say she was spot on and there were no issues when we were working. She was very good at her job.”
