The HSBC Women's World Championships at the Tanjong Course in Sentosa, Singapore is becoming the most thrilling tournament of the 2025 LPGA season so far.
AIG Women's Open Champion Lydiaco is 10 under par and leads Charlie Hal with one shot with a 54-hole mark. KO fired a 4-under 68 on Saturday. This is a round featuring seven birdies and three bozzies.
“It was a bit more striped [Friday]. Away from a bogeyless round, I think the way of thinking is trying to keep it going. I made a few mistakes, but I managed to bounce off a few good birdies too,” Ko said.
“As long as you can put a good score, and as long as you feel like I'm really solid under the circumstances, it really doesn't really matter what the context is. So I hope that in the last few days I will give you a good rhythm tomorrow.”
So far, KO came in sixth in the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, then 48th in the following week and sixth in the Founders Cup. But the world No. 3 has 22 career victories and knows how to get the job done.
“I can just really focus on my game,” Ko explained.
“My score this year isn't that low. It's not easy. You have to play smartly around this golf course. I think I'm doing it pretty well. I might make mistakes here and there, but I'm not just getting too into it and focusing on what's next. I feel like I've been doing it pretty well over the last few days, but I think it's always going to be a big key to tomorrow.”
Ko and Hull will play in the final group, but Jeeno Thitikul and Minjee Lee aren't too late. Thitikul is 7 under and Lee is 6 under, tied with Pajaree Anannarukarn and HGV Tournament of Champions winner A Lim Kim.
“I don't think I'm going to put any extra pressure on myself. Obviously, try getting off to a really hot start. I think it's the type of golf course you can't really hit them like you're really tight. So if you're wearing midrange, I feel you'll have a really great opportunity,” Lee said when asked about what she has to do on Sunday.
“Yeah, I feel like you have to play wind well. And starting the round today, I think I wasn't that windy. So that was good. But I don't know what means the conditions will be like tomorrow. But I think it's similar.”
