In January 2022, Terkeurst announced that she had filed for divorce from Art in 2021, citing infidelity. She initially wanted to divorce her husband in 2017 citing his infidelity and addiction, but after she repaired her marital relationship a year later, she took her vows again. Ta.

“For the past few years, I have fought hard to not only save my marriage, but to survive the devastation that one spouse's consistent deceptions have had on the other,” she wrote at the time. In a recent post, Terkerst pointed to God's faithfulness during seasons of hardship.
“God is kind. God is faithful. When life begs me to believe differently, I remind myself that God is not finished yet. There is more to come. Let’s take a look,” she wrote.
“I've had some really tough times in the past and I still feel the tingling pain, but I'm so grateful that I didn't get stuck trying to make things happen my way and in my own time. . Stubborn as I am, I thought I knew what was best. Whenever God told me 'no' it was by God's grace,” Terkeurst continued.
“God helped me learn how to rely on Him in the midst of my greatest disappointments and be okay with sitting alone. They helped us fight this ongoing battle, not through some great miraculous intervention, but through daily food and guarantees.”
